Taman Pertanian Shah Alam or Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam Agriculture Park Malaysia started to transform into the
National Botanical Garden Shah Alam since year 2011. The National Botanical Garden Shah Alam which was previously known as Taman Pertanian Malaysia (Malaysia Agriculture Park) and which was initially known as Bukit Cerakah Agriculture Park was developed on 24th April 1986 before it was promulgated as the Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam Agriculture Park Malaysia by the late Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj ibni Hishamuddin Alam Shah Al-Haj in 1991. The name National Botanical Garden Shah Alam conferred to the park now is in line with the decision made by the Cabinet of Ministers in 2007 to further develop National Botanical Garden Shah Alam as a replacement to Taman Pertanian Malaysia. so the re-branding is aiming to create a national centre of excellence within the fields of education, scientific research and conservation for the development of botanical, horticulture, agriculture and other various related fields.
Main attractions of this botanical garden are parks & gardens, dams & lakes and villages & chalets.
National Botanical Garden Shah Alam ticket counter open from 8:30am to 4:30pm. For the entrance fee, adult(12 years old & above) RM 3.00, children (6-11 years old) RM 1.00 and senior citizen that above 55 years old FOC.

Upon arrival on the park, you can find this special three land mark. There are two ways to explore the park, by the shuttle bus or mountain bicycle. The shuttle bus is free but for the bicycle rental the first hour RM 5.00 and subsequence hour RM 1.00. For those who plan to hop on a bicycle for a tour around the Shah Alam National Botanical
garden, please arrived there before 7:45am, because this activity is very hot and no bicycle available if you are late.
For us we picked the easier way, which hop on the shuttle bus :). I knew riding bicycle in this park is not really easy, try it before, so not really wish to try it again.

You need to queue up for the shuttle bus. We ride the bus till we reached the last station, Sungai Baru Dam. The Sungai Baru Dam, Built in the '30s, is one of the oldest dams in
Malaysia. It originally funtioned as a reservoir for the residents of
Shah Alam.

The scenery here is awesome, you must visit this place if you are a photography lover like me. I can assure you, if the weather is nice, you can easily capture stunning photograph here.

There is a Fishery component has developed this area by building a fish cage-culture complex and promoting recreational fishing.

Look at the reflection of the lake, fantastic. I was surprised because this is the first time I reached the dam, and now only knew the scenery here is such beautiful.

Not only enjoying the great scenery, you are allow for fishing here. Various species of fish have been released into this 60-year old dam for
recreational fishing. Some of the fishes that will definitely attract
fishing enthusiasts include patin, jelawat, sebarau, temoleh, kap kepala
besar and baung. As in the case of the fishery lake, fishing is
everyday except Monday unless Monday is public holiday or school
holiday. The license for fishing only RM 5.00.

Didn't waste the opportunity, we took a funny group photo here :). After the shooting and exploration, we went down for waiting the bus to next station.

Plan to visit one of the main attraction The Four Seasons Temperature Garden, but unfortunately it under renovation. So we spent our time to take some funny photographs again :).

Fun right ? :)
Just beside the Four Season House, you could fine the lake that allow you for kayaking, but you need to do booking in advance on the counter.

If you choose cycling, I am sure you need to have a very good stamina, below are visitors that choose cycling, ...emm..some of them exhausted and yet need to continue :D.

Next stop is the animal park, but there are not much animal and birds here. However, do visit the peacock, which you can really have a close view on the peacock.

Managed to snap this stunning shoot :D....
Actually the main reason we visited Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam was stay over night there. Not much people knew there are accommodation provided here and the one we choose was Kampung Idaman. The design of the place was based on The Malaysian farmer’s dream homestay. The houses feature traditional architecture at its best. The village comprises houses peculiar to the different states of Malaysia. There are 10 houses for selection and are as follows:
Each house is spacious and can comfortably accommodate large families. The houses are also perfect accommodation for participants of conferences or social functions.
Kampung Idaman Rates:RM80.00/day (weekdays)
RM100.00/day (weekends)
We selected Rumah Melaka which shown as below.

It is furnished with essential equipment and barbeque pits are available nearby. But if you plan to do barbeque here, please beware the monkey, they stolen our sweet potatoes when no body were guarding the food.

The check-in time is after 2PM and check-out time before 12PM on the next day.
For the surrounding I snapped some photos for your references.

While for the interior part, refer the following photos.

There are sufficient mattress, around 13 mattress, and total of 3 rooms so the house definitely can easily fit 10 peoples.

The toilet was well keep, so no worry on the that, beside there is a public bathroom just few steps away from the house.

The kitchen also equipped with refrigerator and gasoline cooking tool. So cooking there is not difficult.
Something would like to highlight here is only one car allow to drive till the Malay house, but you are allow to park your car at the entrance of the park, according to the ranger, the entire area will be gated and locked after 12 night. So don't worry on your vehicle. While for booking, please do at least few months in advance, the Kampung Idaman is popular among those who being there, which the return rate is very high. It definitely an ideal place for gathering and feel the kampung stay. No doubt, this is an excellent place for
family holidays.
