Pulau Ketam or the Crab Island is a small island located off the coast of Port Klang, Klang, Selangor. Majority residents at Pulau Ketam are mainly Teochew and Hoklo (Hokkien) Chinese. It also a fishing village which most of the local work as fishermen. Pulau Ketam is an island of mangrove swamps with a village built on stilts. So you can find a lot of floating houses there.
This was my fist time visit Pulau Ketam. From 9:30am, we reached the Port Klang Jetty and take the speed boat to the island. Around 30 minutes, we reached Pulau Ketam Jetty.

The main thoroughfares are narrow concreted pavements, whilst in the residential areas, the older rickety wooden plank bridges can still be seen. There are no cars in Pulau Ketam, only bicycles, some of which are motorised.

To rent a bicycle, isn't very expensive, it only cost you RM 5 / day (USD 1.50). However we decided by foot because was much easier for us to snap.
The first scene you could see is the Pulau Ketam's market. Is just a simple street which the left and right are full of stalls or shops. This place give me a very good lighting during morning whereby the sun ray cross over the roof's cover. Taken a couple of shoots here and hope you like it.

Although the road in the market is very narrow, but the local ride their bicycle across this market almost on every 10 seconds during the morning busy session. An idea just appeared in my mind was captured the bicycles :) by stationed at the same standing point.

In here, you can see the river view as well. Was low tide that time, water level not really high.

A fisherman boat parking beside the river.
Then we proceeded to the East Street.

The road sign really full of Made in Hong Kong feel. I saw such design during my Hong Kong street, at the MRT Station.

Follow this way will lead you to the famous Pulau Ketam's lover bridge.
