A fun thing I love photography is it able to tell story with photograph you shoot. Photography is a visual language and an effective photograph creates its own reality.
A great photograph means able to develop a clear understanding what it is about the scene that compels you to take the photograph in the first place. Most beginner know how to present the mood of a texture or just the beauty of a landscape/person. But it didn't tell any story.

Every picture tells a story, if you start to practice it from day one.

Your eye and the brain create your own composition, learn how to capture the image or the moment which might only happen for few seconds.

The photographer needs to understand how their camera and lens alters the perception of a scene. Getting a better gear didn't meant you can use it to tell a story, I capture this shoot with my Nikon D60, and I don't think you can't do this if you try hard like me. :). So, never give up, you can do it.
