In photography, bokeh is also know as blur or the aesthetic of blur. It is the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light. This is pretty useful for close up photography, below is an example I used bokeh to make the orange stand out. All below photographs didn't apply any computer touch up, generally I want to show if you are sensitive to light and get the skill to create a bokeh background, your photograph will automatically stand out.

Ok, let's use some examples for better understanding.

This is how the way beginner used to snap, the background is flat and this is not a COOL picture.

In order to improve it, I moved the apple to somewhere higher that I can get use of the tree and light to generate a nice bokeh background.

Now, the apple with a boken background look more attractive, however isn't perfect and yet can be improved. How? See the next photo.

Make use of the light, move your camera till the white light become the border of the red apple, due to the contrast of the color, this make the apple like covered by a white border. COOL right? The orange image above also generated with the same trick. In conclusion, light is very important element, you need to sensitive about light, it will turn your photography to next level. Hope this really help.
